A Look At The Companies Expected To Lobby SOPA

As tech titans line up against 112 H.R.3261: Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA).  The First Street Research Group takes a look at the lobbying activity around a similar bill introduced by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont) and passsed in September, 112 S.968: Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act of 2011.  The lobbying activity on S.968 in Q3 of 2011 outlines the major players on each side of the online piracy debate and gives you insights as to what companies and firms may be focused on shaping SOPA.  In Q3 of 2011, 167 lobbying firms reported lobbiyng S.968.  As you can see, the players in this debate are a who’s who of media and internet companies.
