First Street 30: Missed the Cut – Ex-Members

Last week, we released our list of the top 2011 lobbyists – First Street 30.   It may be assumed former members of Congress command top dollar for their services, but the First Street 30 clearly proved this is the case.   The average amount received by ex-members of Congress in the First Street 30 per client topped $178,000 – significantly higher than ex-congressional staffers, and professional lobbyists.   As @ryanjreilly pointed out “Former members of Congress cost 20% more than ex-staffers & 65% more than normal lobbyists.”  The First Street 30 focused on 10 former members of Congress but over 135 former members of Congress actively lobbied in the first three quarters of 2011.    This group may not have as many clients or pull in same money as the ex-members on the First Street 30, but they are some of the most influential lobbyists in DC.  Let’s take a look at some of the ex-members of Congress that just missed the cut.
