Former Rep. J. Gresham Barrett (R-SC) has joined the government relations group of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough.
Barrett was elected to the House in 2002 and served four terms. He did not seek re-election in 2010, when he unsuccessfully sought his party’s nomination for governor of South Carolina.
During his time in Congress, he served on the House Committee on Financial Services and the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Barrett joins two other former members of Congress in the Nelson Mullins government group: Ron Klink (D-PA) and Alan Mollohan (D-WV).
Other government alumni at the firm include Richard W. Riley, former South Carolina governor and Education secretary during the Clinton administration; David H. Wilkins, former ambassador to Canada; and Philip Lader, who headed the Small Business Administration under Clinton and was ambassador to the Court of St. James’s.
